Fix-It Night at the Shoreline Tool Library
It's time to start collecting all those items around the house that need to be fixed but you don't know how. We are having a fixing night at the new Shoreline Tool Library. We will help you fix and learn to fix your broken tools, lamps, toys, furniture, appliances, and any other broken items that you can carry in on your own. We encourage you to help as much as you can and enjoy the community of reuse!

First Miyawaki Forest Birthday Party - Welcome Stone unveiled
One year ago, 300 community members of all ages planted the Miyawaki Urban Forest. We will celebrate its growth by having a party where we unveil the Welcome Stone that artist Roger Fernandes has designed. The Welcome Stone, 6′ x 3′ glacial rock holds carved images based on the teachings of local Coast Salish Tribes. Come listen to Fernandes as he discusses the stories and his inspiration. In addition, there will be hands-on activities, refreshments and tours of the Forest and Museum. Outdoor event.

This month, CityLearn goes on the road! This meeting will be at the Shoreline Library, 345 N 175th Street. There is no virtual option for November.
The Regional Crisis Response Agency builds on the success of the RADAR program, first launched in Shoreline in 2017. RCR now provides behavioral health Crisis Response through the 911 system through a collaboration between north King County Cities. Services provided by RCR are person-centered, focused on compassionate and immediate crisis response, de-escalation, resource referral, and follow-up. This is an opportunity to learn more about how RCR serves the community.
CityLearn is a monthly opportunity to learn about timely topics in Shoreline. Meetings are open to everyone who lives and/or works in Shoreline. Participants connect directly with City Councilmembers and staff from different departments.

At the Shoreline Community Collage Foundation Giving Table event this year, you will meet Mohammad. Mohammad grew up in Kabul and worked for the NATO and US Forces stationed there. In 2021, he and his wife were evacuated from Afghanistan, since it was no longer safe for people like Mohammad who had helped the US Forces. Arriving in New Jersey as a refugee, Mohammad and his wife were relocated to Washington. The Richmond Beach 2024 Halloween Carnival at Syre Elementary will be on October 26, from 3-7 PM for general attendees, but opening early (soft start) at 2 PM for people who may have special needs that may make navigating a crowd tricky or uncomfortable.

The newly established Verde Wildwood school in Shoreline is holding an outdoor Halloween event on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10am to 12pm.
The event will be held in the park, northeast from the bathrooms, underneath the trees.
It is a free all ages event for children and their caregivers.
Families can gather with their children to do Halloween themed nature crafts and have a fun little time before Halloween.
