Getting to know Shoreline

Shoreline, WA, located just north of Seattle, has a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. Originally inhabited by the Duwamish tribe, the area saw an influx of European settlers in the 1880s, drawn by the fertile land and proximity to Seattle. The establishment of the Interurban Railway in 1906 spurred development, transforming the rural area into a burgeoning suburb. Shoreline's growth continued through the mid-20th century, fueled by post-World War II housing booms. Officially incorporated as a city in 1995, Shoreline has since evolved into a vibrant community known for its parks, schools, and diverse neighborhoods.
